Love, Love, Love
I don't know about you, but when I'm in the midst of a big transition it can be difficult to just relax. So when I found myself up North over the weekend with my daughter, siblings and seven nephews, getting into "sit around and chill" mode was a bit challenging.

The first night was the toughest... I found myself in bed wondering if I would make it for all three nights. I know it sounds strange - vacations are suppose to be fun and carefree, and usually they are for me, but this time I just felt like I needed to be home taking care of business.

What ultimately helped me relax and enjoy the beautiful company and surroundings was repeating the word "Love" in my mind.

This mantra - love, love, love - caused my heart to open. I actually felt it relax and expand. I also felt energy moving in my body, which is always a good thing. It's a surprising anti-anxiety remedy that I wanted to share.

As you all know, I'm a firm believer in affirmations, but this one might be the most powerful of all. It even got me through ripping out the seat of my pants while climbing a rock:)

Bless,
Kim

Babyboomers Rock!
I'm sitting at my desk on this lovely Saturday morning working on my latest writing project with the window open. All of a sudden I hear loud music, "Let the sideshow begin - hurry, hurry - step right on in - Can't afford to pass it by, guaranteed to make you cry..." Do you remember that song?

Well, I can't wait to get a glimpse of the person blaring one my favorite oldies. Then I see her. A woman in her fifties in a bright yellow convertible Chevy SS with the top town. She has a tie dyed shirt on. Other than the music, car and clothes, she looks strikingly average... If you put her in a different outfit, you might mistake her for your best friend's mom.

This confirms a conversation I had with a friend yesterday. I told him that baby boomers are going to make getting older easier for the rest of us. That they had already paved the way with the women's movement, gave us a road map for what to do and not to do when faced with an unending war, and inspired a new flock of hippy, peace seeking, live and let live youngsters -just look around and you'll see peace signs and environmental slogans everywhere.

If anyone reading this is a baby boomer, I would like to say thank you. You break down barriers, set trends, and spread coolness wherever you go. Getting older has never been so hip.

Voice of Life
Spirituality and healing have been at the center of my life for nearly 17 years. It's always involved my learning first and then teaching what I've learned - this, I suspect, will never change.

For the first 15 years I focused on finding inner peace and helping others to do the same. It came as a bit of a shock to me two years ago when I realized how connected our inner peace is to world peace. Of course, it makes sense - but the literal implications are startling. This new layer is what I've been teaching for a while, and what I'm currently writing about.

Here's something else rather staggering. Every speaker I heard at World Wellness Weekend made the connection between individual healing and healing of the world. It is so awesome to know that the voice of life is whispering the same thing to those who are listening.

We are so connected. To each other and to the universal spirit that animates our very existence. This comforts me. I love that we're all moving in the same direction and that anyone who wishes to know life's agenda can just tune into that frequency and get a clear message.

What messages are you receiving?

What a blast!
I just returned from speaking at World Wellness Weekend in Austin - what a blast! Not only did I get to spend two days with people who deeply care about the environment, and evolving into their best selves, I was privileged to listen to some amazing live music and awesome speakers.

Austin - although already feeling rather humid - is such a cool city. The people are among the friendliest I've ever met, and the vibe there is "chill" as the young would say;)

I have to say, my favorite part (other than the pure joy and adventure of spending two and a half days with my sister-in-law Amy, who attended with me - thanks girl!) was sharing the message of embodied spirituality. It was great to see the light go on for those who discovered the specific ways they avoid their own transformation - and how these compulsive avoidance strategies are just the ego's way of attempting to keep it from being transmuted by the fire of spiritual energy.

This road to transparency and radiance can get a little rocky, but when we understand the bigger picture - that we are meant to share our inner light rather than project it onto other things and people and chase after it - the rocks become more like pebbles and we keep going until they turn to sand, and we to diamonds.

I wish you were all there:)
