Red Carpet Days
A Course in Miracles tells us that miracles are every one's right, but purification is necessary first. While I've experienced the truth of this statement over the years as I become more emotionally clear, I also know that we can experience miracles whenever we are balanced.

Balance comes from being rested and at peace. As we all know, peace comes from making good choices - especially the small ones! These two simple states of mind, along with expecting miracles, will fill each day with random serendipitous events.

You know the kind of day I'm talking about. You go for a coffee and a person pulls out of the closest parking spot just as you drive up. The clerk is unusually kind, and lovely surprises greet you at every juncture of your day.

These serendipitous moments are "miracles" - the effect of life energy flowing out of you and "making the crooked places straight." It's as if a red carpet is rolling out in front of you as you walk.

The Course asks us to dedicate each day to miracles. This is worth doing, as there is no reason that every day shouldn't be a red carpet day.

Evolving Politics
By Nikita Gearing
I take a moment to Breathe.
I breathe in Peace
I breathe out Peace
I awaken the Presence of Peace within me now.
May my words be a prayer of Peace into the world and be
manifest in alignment with the highest good.
I call forth the Highest outcome for the USA Presidential Election in 2008.
I call forth the election of the 44th President of the United States of America
who will serve the highest evolution of the USA and our world.
I am grateful that Truth, Integrity, Peace, and the New Paradigm are now present
and manifesting through the USA Presidential Election.
I call forth the reality of Peace, Unity, Consciousness, Sustainable Solutions
and the New Earth Resonance.
I intend that the President and Vice President who will serve and create the Highest Good
for all peoples of the USA, all peoples of the world, and all of life
on our precious planet are now elected, Simply and Easily.
I recognize that I play a role in creating Peace, each day, each moment.
I dedicate this moment to 'Consciously Create' the election of the President and
Vice President who will support life and serve the highest good of all peoples.
I am grateful that Truth Prevails Now, the Peace Prevails Now.
I am grateful that the highest outcome for the USA Presidential Election is now manifest.
I Create Peace now.
So be it.

Making Decisions
Decision making isn't always easy, especially the big ones involving jobs, relationships or a possible move. Society's conventional wisdom often encourages one thing, while our gut instincts tell us something different.

Here's the thing: Gut instincts are always right. The life energy contained in your body provides direct information that doesn't go through the filters of the mind. Further, this information is connected to all of life and has insight into what serves the whole, whereas our minds provide more of an egoistic or individual perspective.

My belief and experience is that, with patience, conviction eventually bubbles up from the body, penetrating the mind. I'm in the habit now of waiting for that feeling of conviction prior to making big changes. When it comes, it often feels like an inner explosion of energy or knowledge.

Next time you're trying to decide what to do, try asking your higher self for the conviction to go one way or another. Though it may take some time, you'll always receive it. In the long run, following your instincts saves time, heartache and energy:)

Are you an empath?

Do you easily pick up on other people's vibes?

Can you tell how a person feels without asking?

Do you sometimes "catch" a mood without knowing where you caught it?

Empaths naturally tune-in to other's emotions. This gift is a double edged sword. Enhanced sensitivity to the feelings of others allow us to be compassionate, socially smart and aware of our surroundings, but this ability to feel the energy of others can also get in the way.

There's a reason children lose their natural psychic ability over time - being aware of how people think and feel can cause us to silence our own needs in favor of theirs.

While we don't want to get rid of our ability to tune-in to others, we do need to be able to "tune-out" sometimes. For example, if there is someone in your life who's controlling and becomes disappointed when you don't do what he or she wants. Or, if you sense that another person does not want you to be successful in some area of your life.

We can selectively "block" others from our psychic channels if they do not have our best interest at heart. Be aware of the fine line between blocking and avoiding. If you have a pattern of avoiding those who mirror aspects of yourself that you don't like to see, that is simply delaying your own growth and evolution. Tuning people out should be reserved for times when you are certain that there are no personal lessons to learn.

Most of us have some empathic ability. Learning to navigate this skill helps us shield ourselves from psychic attacks while preserving our energy flow and openness.

Release Valves
Last month I had the pleasure of being interviewed by three young men for an Internet Radio show. These guys were hysterical - they drank beer while during interviews to "loosen their lips."

Trying to get a handle on what I do as an energy coach, one of the guys gave me an example of what he's going through and asked my opinion. He shared that he has a job he "hates" and to unwind and take the edge off, he plays video games - ALOT.

When I asked him how he felt about the games, he said that he thought they were useful and necessary in order to survive his hell job. I disagreed, and lovingly shared my opinion that his gaming habit was acting as a release valve whereby he discharged all the negative energy that accumulated during work - and that, instead of making his life easier, playing the games took the vital energy needed for him to change the situation.

Release valves are sneaky - they often look harmless. Take for example, venting to a friend about another friend. In this case, the energy dissipates and you never address the problem head on (we call this triangulation in the psych world).

To find out if you're employing the release valve technique, ask yourself if you do anything to make another situation more bearable. You may find that the innocent nightly Internet surfing is keeping you from discussing an important issue with your spouse, or that the things legitimately purchased with your hard earned money are really keeping you from a much needed exercise program.

When something needs to change in your life, the energy naturally builds to a point of tension. This is where the motivation to change comes from. When we release the tension prematurely through some seemingly unrelated activity, we stay stuck in a situation that's less than ideal.

Life will transform anything negative if we don't distract ourselves. Perhaps taking a break from the good ol' release valve will accelerate your journey toward real bliss.
