My little trick for getting through conflicts with others? Create the conditions for love. Not on the outside but on the inside.
What does it feel like? Expansiveness, breathing and receiving around the abdomen area, then it rises up to the heart. It’s impossible to stay frustrated when your doing this. It really works. I’m not perfect at it, but getting better all the time!
Have you noticed things changing?
I keep getting a message from the universe. It is this: Everything that is not real is now falling apart and will be replaced by a new order based only on what is real.
What is not real? Anything based on ego. Materialism that feeds an identity built on status. Relationships that are superficial. A job that one hates but keeps for the security. The list goes on.
There are two ways we can approach this emerging order. We can either cling to our made-up identities, needs and pseudo security blankets or we can let them all go and embrace what’s real in our lives.
What’s real? Abundance is as close as your next breath and the eggs you had for breakfast. Love that is honest, generous and tolerant. And passionate expression of one’s gifts – regardless of the annual salary.
The new currency is energy. Everything false is only a shell that is devoid of energy. These hollow forms are crumbling all around us. So many have lost their homes only to find that they are living a life that has more meaning. My hair dresser who used to listen to clients talk about their new Gucci bags all day now hears stories of volunteerism.
This shift is not easy, as most of us have an entire belief system based on what the “ideal” life should be like – how we should look, how much money we should have, where we should live, who we should be with…
My belief is that 2012 is the end of the world as we know it. Not like in the movies, but ending nonetheless. Institutions based on greed will continue to fall, and the earth that is being robbed of it’s natural resources in order to feed insatiable consumerism will continue to shutter with grief, and the ocean that is being poisoned with chemicals will continue to roar. But the false world is being replaced by a new world that is shimmering with light and brimming with energy. Those who thrive are those who will gracefully embrace this new reality that is built on substance rather than form.
Our task is to take a rigorous look at any beliefs or behaviors we are holding onto that are based on false ideals and be willing to let them go. We can then surrender to the real and emerging currency of energy. By doing this, we not only help usher in the reality that is at our doorsteps and will take us over if we don’t let it in, but we experience the abundance that is our natural inheritance and the peace that passeth all understanding.
I’m thrilled to be attending the 2011 Imagine Peace Conference at Berkeley this year! Sacred for sure – we will be celebrating and manifesting peace on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

You might think I’m having a hard attack or participating in some kind of erotic activity by the title of this post, but in reality my heart is holding so much love that it feels like it’s going to burst.
Now let me be clear (said in the voice of Obama;), I have no shortage of love in my life, but my summer school students just put me over the edge.
I think what happened is that I decided to love them first. I saw the unique spirit and gifts in each of them – the edgy students, the charming students, the free spirited students and the courageous students. There were gentle giants and future stars in this class.
I won’t go on and on describing each one, even though I want to… But at some point the winds changed and they began pouring love in my direction. By the end of the class it was a full-on love fest.
I’m so honored to have people to “see.” To really see is to fall in love and what we put out there comes back to us tenfold, maybe even a hundredfold, which is why my heart is bursting.
The message contained in The Secret has blasted through the collective consciousness telling us we can have anything we want using the power of our thoughts.
This leaves many of us scratching our heads…Well, can I play basketball like Michael Jordan? I’m pretty sure in my case, that’s a no. So where does our will collide with God’s?
Here’s a thought – It’s All God’s Will. Our only choice is whether or not to accept it. God is synonymous with life. Life is all there is and it is abundant and everywhere. So what if the only real choice we make is to receive or reject life in each moment?
The choices we make in the outer world are endless and as long as we say yes to God or Life on the inside, the outer circumstances naturally fall into place!
This perspective is liberating in that it takes the pressure off the question, “Is this the right choice for me?” Who Cares! We make choices to the best of our ability while remaining steadfastly committed to (married to) the life that’s always trying to move through us.
We are supported by life in two ways. First, it does give us intuitive direction – ALWAYS. When we are connected to it, we hear, see and feel the next right move. Second, It goes before us and “makes the crooked place straight.” So if a situation isn’t right, we are guided in a different direction or the situation transforms to accommodate more life.
It’s ultimately all God’s will and what we choose to do with it is not as important as we think.
“Mommy they killed Bin Laden!” My daughter rushes into the living room to tell me the news. “It’s all over Facebook!”
My face must have dropped because she said, “What’s wrong?” Something akin to sadness washed over me when I heard the news. I had the same feeling when I read that Kadhafi’s youngest son and three grandchildren were killed in a NATO air strike.
What is happening here? Sure feels like world war to me.
911 was tragic. We needed to capture Bin Laden. He needed to be done. Kadhafi needs to be done. People cannot kill other people without retribution… Or can they? WHY ARE WE KILLING SO MANY PEOPLE?
We need to be done too. What ever happened to prisons? Trials? I know it’s going to be necessary to lose lives sometimes, but so many? And so much rejoicing over an other’s death. I’m confused. I’m sad.
Where do you think the energy of an evil person goes when they die? I’d rather let them sit in jail for a lifetime and contemplate their actions. Perhaps spirit will have an opportunity to refine and transmute the darkness as they become aware. Maybe not, I know. But for some, it would.
I would not wish the 911 attacks on anyone. They were horrible and are etched in my memory as deeply as everyone else’s. I’m just concerned that we are perpetuating violence. I like what Jimmy Carter is doing through the Carter Center. He communicates. Listens. Connects. Negotiates. And probably prays.
That’s what I’m doing now. Praying. I pray for all of us to be peace. To find another way to stop the madness.
I honor President Obama and our troops. I bless all who have lost loved ones in terrorist attacks. I pray for the elevation and healing of all souls on this strange and confusing day.
What do you call someone with no attachments? A FREE SPIRIT! Who doesn’t want to be a free spirit?
The most important thing to do to help yourself release people, patterns, habits and things is to make your spiritual self your primary attachment. Meditate daily and listen to your intuition… That way it’s easier to let go of the people and things that give us a false sense of security.

Releasing self-defeating impulses is liberating and it’s not that hard!
Have you given a certain behavior or habit too much power? Are you ready to take your power back and put it in its place?
One more thing that’s necessary to refine sensual impulsivity? Get rid of guilt. Guilt is addicting. If you you do slip up, forgive yourself immediately.
